1. Sapa, Y Ty (Lao Cai)

Located in the northwest at an altitude of 1,600 m above sea level, Sapa is one of the places where snow and ice appear the most in Vietnam.

Most recently, on December 15, snow fell in Sapa town and lasted until the morning of December 16.

2. Mau Son (Lang Son)

At an average altitude of 800-1,000 m above sea level, located in Cao Loc and Loc Binh districts (Lang Son), Mau Son is considered one of the coldest regions in Vietnam.

3. Tay Con Linh (Ha Giang)

With an altitude of 2,427 m, Tay Con Linh – the roof of the Northeast mountains and forests is also a place where snow and ice often appear every winter.

Compared to other snow and ice viewing spots, the road to Tay Con Linh is very difficult.

4. Phia Oac (Cao Bang)

Phia Oac is a name that is quite unfamiliar to many people.

Although it doesn’t snow as often as Sapa, if you’re lucky, you can see snowflakes spreading across the rooftops and dry tree branches, sometimes even whitening the forest.

Phia Oac is also where the French chose to build high-class resorts for soldiers and officers.

5. Dong Van, Meo Vac (Ha Giang)

Temperatures often drop so low that frost also appears in high mountainous areas of Ha Giang, including Dong Van and Meo Vac.
