The 32nd Independent Spirit Awards announced the nomination list on November 23.

Both compete for the `Excellent Film` award with Manchester By The Sea, Jackie and Chronic.

In addition, American Honey’s beauty Sasha Lane and American Honey’s actor Shia LaBeouf entered the `Best Actress` and `Best Supporting Actor` categories, while the screenwriters of Moonlight – Barry Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney

American Honey is a 17+ movie about a teenage girl who participates in a group of spoiled kids, selling long-term newspapers during the day and having fun at night.

Meanwhile, Moonlight is a new discovery at Independent Spirit.

Independent Spirit is an award to honor low-budget films (under 20 million USD) from North America.
