According to the report of the National Expanded Immunization Program (TCMR), on March 10, 433 more people were safely vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccine.

A total of 955 people have been vaccinated in the past 3 days, including medical staff and staff directly treating Covid19 patients, and medical staff performing tasks such as taking samples, testing, tracing, etc.

According to TCMR, no case of vaccination on March 10 reported any post-vaccination reaction.

During the first three days of implementation, vaccination safety was always given top priority by the EPI Program and was seriously implemented by localities.

At the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital, Hanoi, doctor Vu Minh Dien, Deputy Director of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, said there were no cases of reactions within 30 minutes after injection.

After injection, there is a fairly high rate of injectors experiencing side effects, however these reactions are all mild, the most common are pain at the injection site, mild fever, and fatigue.

`These are all common delayed reactions after vaccination. To date, there have been no cases of unusual anaphylactic reactions,` said Dr. Dien.

After 3-5 days, the hospital will continue to administer Covid-19 vaccination.

Mr. Khong Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control, estimated that the rate of post-injection reactions is only about 3-5%, based on a report from Thanh Nhan Hospital.

In Hai Duong, 2 medical staff had fevers over 38 degrees Celsius after being vaccinated. Their health was monitored and they received timely medical care, and their health is currently stable.

`These reactions have been expected and are within the manufacturer’s recommendations. Vaccines, like drugs, will react when entering the human body, so we are preparing the means and people to participate.`

Hai Duong was allocated 32,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine by the Ministry of Health.

According to TCMR representatives, muscle pain, fatigue, fever, headache, chills, swelling and pain at the injection site, nausea… are common reactions that have been recommended after vaccination.

According to the Ministry of Health, to date, sources of Covid-19 vaccine supply for Vietnam include: Support from Covax and supply from VNVC Company.

It is expected that the next batches of vaccines from VNVC’s contract, with a total of 29.87 million doses, will arrive in Vietnam in April (1.48 million doses), May (2.76 million doses), May 2019.

In addition, on March 25, the first batch of vaccines from Covax Facility with 1.37 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine in a commitment to support 30 million doses, will arrive in Vietnam.
