Hoai Linh (left) full name is Vo Nguyen Hoai Linh, born on December 18, 1969 in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa in a family originally from Quang Nam.

At the age of 19 (1988), Hoai Linh participated in the contest `The Voice of Nha Trang City`.

From 1988 to November 1993, in addition to working in the Ponagar troupe, Hoai Linh also performed for art troupes of Buon Ma Thuot and Hai Dang with artists Y Moan and Siu Black.

In 1993, Hoai Linh followed his family to the US to settle.

In 1994, Hoai Linh appeared on the Van Son stage with her first comedy skits.
